--> Hi everyone!

Welcome to my blog-Pics by Jas, and thanks for taking a look! I've been interested in photography for a while now and thought that a blog would be a good way to see what people thought, and to motivate me into actually getting out there!  So every week I'm hoping to go out and take some new photos, and then post a few for you all to take a look at. I'm not interested in a particular type of photography at the moment, so the photos will be very varied! Any comments or suggestions are welcome.

So to start off here are a few photos all taken in the last year...enjoy!

This was taken in Roath Park, where the continuous row of benches immediately caught my eye. I thought it looked more effective with a black and white filter, to emphasise the patterns.

I love photographing flowers, and this hanging basket in Roath Park particularly stood out because of the vibrant colours and large flower in the foreground.

This was taken a couple of months ago when there was a ferris wheel in Cardiff Bay. I got as close as I could to the wheel so that it appears very tall!

This is a view of Rhossili Bay in the Gower. I liked the atmospheric feel of this one...

And lastly, this photo of a robin in the Forest Farm Nature Reserve, Cardiff. The robin watched for ages as I happily snapped away!

Hopefully I've given you a feel for the different kind of photos I take. Please come and have another look next week when there should be some new ones up. And don't forget to leave a comment!

  2. Hellooo!! WOW these are fantastic! I particularly like the angle you have taken the ferris wheel from, the way you have captured the scenery at Rhossili Bay, and the the robin pic is brilliant-- i love the way that it's all neutral colours, and then the robin with such bright and vibrant colours,, it really stands out!!

  11. Hi,
I am a friend of Leah Sian. I was the photographer at Carys and Aron's wedding. I saw this link on FB and had to have a look !. I am a self taught photographer and have taken many, many years to build up enough confidence to shoot weddings. However you have learned to produce photos like these, whether self taught or through courses, I think they are excellent. I think many people can take photos but only a few can produce lovely shots like these, even if they have been on courses! You are very talented and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work.

  12. Kim,
thanks for having a look and taking the time to leave a comment. Would be interesting to see the photos from their wedding! I'll have to ask Leah...I've learnt mainly from my Dad who is interested in photgraphy, and also from books etc. Thanks again for the encouragement!

  13. Lovely photos Jasmine. I particularly like the first one and the robin shot - really beautiful! I saw a photography exhibition in the Museum of Wales recently and your shots are just as good!

  15. Hi Jas,
I love the colours of the flowers and the angle of the ferris wheel photo. The bench photo is my favourite though. It looks great in black and white! Your photos are really good and you take after your Dad with your amazing photography skills! Anna xx

  16. Hi Jas
Sorry I am late responding. I have only found time to look today and think they are wonderful! Keep up the good work!

  17. Wow Jas - I knew you were good, but these are fantastic. Hard to choose which one I like the best. Think it's a tie between the benches, flowers and robin.

  18. Hi Jas
Your family photos are really lovely. Well done!
